The first time Uppie took me to Steelmantown Cemetery, I didn’t understand why we were going to a cemetery, on a weekend, seemingly for fun, and to visit no one we knew.
It’s a hard place to explain, except that it’s a green cemetery, meaning no caskets, no concrete vaults, no embalming fluids. Just wicker baskets and nature. But that’s not why you go visit even if you don’t have someone buried there. The place is natural wonder that you really have to see to believe.
